Cambridge Nursery School has been for our daughter an exciting place for all kinds of discoveries: music, nature, colors, ideas, and the wonder of sharing her life with a joyful group of children, teachers and parents. We admire the loving way in which the teachers have nurtured her imagination, and strengthened her sense of self and her sense of belongingness in a community. She loves going to school everyday. This is what we had always hoped her preschool experience would be!
We had looked at a number of different nursery school environments, but stopped looking as soon as we found this magical place. Walking up the path to the School, which we found nestled in a quiet old neighborhood of Cambridge like a tiny island of calm surrounded by the usual city bustle, we could not help but feel a tinge of excitement, as though we were already connected to the School's distinguished past as the oldest surviving parent cooperative in America. But once inside, we were truly mesmerized by what we found: An intimate, "down home" atmosphere. Small, well-lit, well-directed classrooms. Happy, smiling, yet attentive children. Brilliant, loving teachers. And an experienced Director who runs a tight ship. What more could a parent ask for! Our son, who is not terribly outgoing, spontaneously left our sides to sit down with the other pupils during their "circle time" with the junior class. Needless to say, we rushed home, wrote out a check, and drove back to the School to reserve a spot. We haven't been disappointed since! Our son is thriving. He adores the School in every particular. And we feel like owners of his education because we get to participate in the decisions and to help out occasionally in the classroom. It's the perfect place for kids and parents who want something special out of education, and out of life.
We are very pleased that we found Cambridge Nursery for our daughter. We like the warm and cozy atmosphere of this school. The teachers are very kind and friendly. The kids are free to work on various projects, are very relaxed and always having a lot of fun.
We fell in love with the school at the very first time we visited. When we stepped through the gates, we entered the magic land of play, laughter and joy! Teachers managed to create a wonderful atmosphere of cooperation, eagerness for learning new things and compassion. We are very grateful that our daughter grows up in this atmosphere. And during parent-helping hours we are happy to escape the stresses of grown-up life in this tiny island of childhood!
