Butterfly News: Today we had clay as a morning choice. There were many joyful faces and goopy hands. The children explored the texture and movement of the clay. Of course there were some jewels and other objects to use with the clay. We will have it out again tomorrow for choice time.
These past two days we have had the sand and water tables open. The children have been busy cleaning the play dough toys used by both Caterpillars and Butterflies (in the water table) and making treats and tea in the sand table. The Caterpillars joined in, and this activity in the common area of the school became a nice way for the two groups to begin to get to know each other.
This week we started group story acting. Over these few weeks, we have been collecting stories that the children have dictated. Later this week or early next week we will try acting out some of the children’s stories.
One last note from the day, the rug was a busy place today. The children shared a long road made out of Magna-Tiles. The cars were zooming, and there was a lot of wonderful collaboration.
